Production Manager Wanted

The American Craft Council needs a production manager assist with the annual American Craft Show in Baltimore, MD, February 21- Feb 26, 2012.

Background: The American Craft Council is a national, nonprofit educational organization dedicated to promoting understanding and appreciation of contemporary American craft. The Council is the leading voice for crafts in America, celebrating the remarkable achievements of the many gifted artists working in the media of clay, fiber, glass, metal, wood and other materials. Baltimore is the American Craft Council's largest show featuring more than 700 exhibitors and 25,000 attendees.

The Production Manager is responsible for the realization and recording of educational programming at the American Craft Council Show in Baltimore, Maryland February 21-26, 2012. All work will take place in the Baltimore Convention Center. This is a temporary contract position reporting to the Director of Education and working closely with the Education Coordinator, Technical Staff and Talent. The applicant must be available for the following dates: Tuesday February, 21 and Friday, February 24- Sunday February, 26 2012

The successful candidate will:
• Ensure strict adherence to schedules and deadlines of live programming.
• Liaise with and support the Director, Talent and Audio/Visual staff engaged by the American Craft Council.
• Manage and oversee the audio/visual technical production and to take a hands-on role in its execution.
• Film and Record the lectures and programming as directed.
• Demonstrate superb management and communication skills.
• Demonstrate knowledge of current video recording and audio soundboard equipment.
• Must have flexible working hours.
• To be available throughout the run of the production to deal with any matters arising.
